Unanimated are a black metal-influenced melodic death metal band from Sweden. They released two albums before disbanding: In The Forest Of The Dreaming Dead(1993) and Ancient God Of Evil(1995).
It is worth pointing out that the two albums are completely different from each other.

In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead is in general an oldschool death metal album with tremolo riffing and some touches of black metal (i.e. keyboard arrangements and the vocals of Micke Jansson, which comprised mostly of dry, raspy shrieks).

Ancient God of Evil is generally regarded to be the better of the two albums. Almost all aspects of the music were changed or improved on that CD. Beginning with the overall sound, which shifted to melodic death metal (yet vastly different from Gothenburg metal), it has become very "dry", selective and more polished than on In the Forest.... Tremolo riffing remained the basis of Unanimated's music, with guitar solos gaining a bluesy touch and some keyboard present in the background, making the music more atmospheric. The vocals have also changed - it is still shrieking, but less chaotic and with an echo reminiscent of Dissection's "Storm of the Light's Bane".
